Mentorship Programmes

ree

I am so thankful that we are up and running again after a long silence! I know that not too many people know about this website yet but I will keep putting it out there so that more people will get the tools and resources that we offer. We are going to have new contributors who are now part of We Create Wells family as you have seen in the last two posts. And this means more information for us! Yay! We have collaborated with a few writers and I will keep posting updates as time goes on.

Let me also take the opportunity to welcome the new members of this network. Hi :). My name is Nancy, published author who loves writing and creating in general. I do so many things with my hands also. I sew my own clothes sometimes and I crochet also. I love cooking healthy meals and creating healthy drinks. I love exercising and and looking after my health in general. A short recipe e-book will be available next week with quick healthy recipes for the whole family. Look out for it in our shop.

Let's get to mentorship. I explained in the previous mentorship blog post that different people will have different programmes because each individual has different areas they need to develop. For some, it's the career, others it's personal or spiritual or even all of this.

Creating a structured and detailed mentorship programme involves several key components that ensure that the participants achieve the desired results. I will give you a rough outline below so that you can have an idea of how it is structured.

The programme has a duration and frequency of interaction between the mentee and the mentor. But as you know, unlike coaching, mentorship tends to go beyond a specified period but even if it does, it is only if the mentee feels that there is something more they need from their mentor. The mentees submit their written goals and areas of development. If we cannot give you what you are looking for, we will let you know before we start. Your goals, interests and expertise will also be assessed so as to find out if we are the right match for you.

We also establish communication guidelines and confidentiality protocols so that there are no problems in the future. The mentee defines their short term and long term goals, whether personal, professional or spiritual. We do help you with goal formulation if needed. the mentee also creates their plan, outlining specific areas of development, resources needed and timelines for achieving those goals.

Physical meetings are not always easy and considering that this is a free mentorship, we need to leave more time for other things we do in ministry and business. So it is mostly calls. I know people prefer WhatsApp messaging and we're okay with that but sometimes it just doesn't work unless it is just a submission of some sort. If it is a discussion, we prefer calls unless there is a reason it cannot happen. Also, this does not happen all the time. We do this only when we discuss progress, challenges and the way forward. Once a month calls are usually enough and for every thing else, messaging works fine. I know some argue that you can study online without calls or anything and get your degree and if that's how you will prefer the mentorship, we will discuss it and come to an agreement.

If there is a way to help with a networking opportunity, then we do that. There's also assessment and feedback and we have a formal evaluation to assess goal achievement at the end of the programme. This is basically it. Remember, we do check before a person is admitted to a programme if they are a right fit for this network. We do this out of love and know that most people cannot afford to pay. In return, we will appreciate respect for our time and sacrifice. Each programme lasts for 3 months.
