LIVING WITH PURPOSE: ALIGNING YOUR LIFE WITH GOD'S DESIGN

ree

Introduction

In a world driven by achievements and milestones, the question “Why am I here?” often lingers in our hearts. For those who walk with God, the answer lies in understanding purpose - the eternal reason you were created - and assignment - the seasonal tasks He calls you to fulfil. At We Create Wells, we believe that when women live with clarity of both, they become spiritual wells, pouring life and influence into every area they touch.

What Is Purpose?

Purpose is not a job title, a role, or a list of achievements. It is the unchanging reason God created you. Jeremiah 1:5 declares, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart.” Your purpose is eternal, woven into your being before time began.

Purpose is about identity rather than activity. It answers the question: Who did God create me to be?

What Is Assignment?

Assignments are the specific roles, tasks, or missions God calls you to in different seasons. They can change based on your stage of life, environment, and spiritual growth.

Example:

Purpose: To empower women to walk in freedom and healing.

Assignments: Leading a prayer group, writing a devotional, or mentoring young leaders.

Assignments are temporary, but they are vital expressions of your purpose. Confusing the two can lead to frustration when seasons change.

How to Know If You’re Living in Purpose

You feel deeply fulfilled beyond achievements.

Your life produces fruit and impact in others.

You sense God’s grace strengthening you through challenges.

Why It Matters

At We Create Wells, we teach that purpose is the well and assignments are the buckets that draw from it. Without purpose, life feels empty. Without understanding assignments, life feels scattered. When both are aligned, life flows with meaning, creativity, and divine direction.

Practical Steps to Align with God’s Design

1. Return to the Source

Spend time in prayer and the Word. Purpose is not discovered in hustle but in His presence.

2. Identify Your Life Themes

Notice patterns where God consistently uses you. These are often clues to your purpose.

3. Ask for Your Current Assignment

Seasons change. Ask God, What do You want me to focus on right now?

Prayer for Clarity

Father, thank You for creating me with intention and love. Help me live fully in the purpose You designed and walk faithfully in the assignments You place before me. May my life be a well of living water, refreshing others and glorifying You. Amen.
